DODA TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT TAKES ACTION AGAINST DRUNK DRIVING AT KHELLANI; FIVE CHALLANS ISSUED

Doda, October 29: In a move to strengthen road safety and deter drunk driving, the Transport Department conducted a special enforcement drive at Khellani in Doda district late last night, issuing five challans and initiating proceedings for the cancellation of two driving licences.
The drive was led by Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Doda, Kuldeep Kumar, along with his team, following directions from Transport Commissioner, Jammu and Kashmir, Vishesh Paul Mahajan.
During the checking, motorists were screened for traffic violations, and five challans were issued. The department also initiated action to cancel the driving licences of two drivers found violating the prescribed rules.
RTO Doda Kuldeep Kumar said that strict enforcement of traffic regulations was essential to prevent road accidents and protect human lives. He urged motorists to exercise responsibility on the roads and avoid rash and negligent driving.
Emphasising the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances, he appealed to drivers to refrain from such practices, cautioning that they endanger not only their own lives but also the safety of passengers and other road users.
He further warned that the Transport Department would continue its enforcement drives and take strict action against violators in accordance with the law.
The RTO appealed to all motorists to obey traffic rules, drive cautiously and cooperate with the authorities in making roads safer and preventing avoidable accidents.
